BONDVILLE -- Edgar H. Shattuck, 38, of Bondville, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H.
He was born in Townshend on Sept. 26, 1966, the son of Robert H. and Lena (Corey) Shattuck. He attended local schools and graduated from Burr and Burton Seminary, class of 1985.
Mr. Shattuck was employed by Johnny See Saw’s Restaurant as a cook. He also worked for Stratton Corporation and the Vermont Highway Department.
Edgar was a member of both the Winhall and Wells volunteer fire departments. He enjoyed collecting toy John Deere tractors and was very good at restoring antique tractors. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially times spent fishing and deer hunting and was very active as a Bondville Town Committee member for several years.
Mr. Shattuck is survived by his parents, of Bondville; one brother, Jerry Shattuck of Bondville; two sisters, Roberta and her husband David Sargood of Jackson, N.Y. and Barbara and her husband Michael Valenkas of Salem, N.H.; a very close uncle, Henry Shattuck, who lived with Edgar and his family; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Shattuck will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Brewster Funeral Service, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center. Edgar’s cousin Dana Corey will conduct the service. There are no visiting hours. A time of fellowship and refreshments at the home of Edgar’s parents Robert and Lena in Bondville will follow the service.
