Valerie Knights Albrycht

1962-2013 BENNINGTON Valerie Knights Albrycht, age 51, a resident of Chapel Road in Bennington, VT died on Thursday morning, September 19, 2013 at her home, following a long illness. She was born in Bennington, on February 14, 1962, and was the daughter of Barbara Knights of Bennington and the late Leonard Knights, Sr. She received her education in Bennington, and is a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. She had received her certification in American Sign Language at St. Rose College in Albany, NY. She married Herb Albrycht in 1984. He survives. Valerie has been employed at Steinerfilm in Williamstown, MA for several years, as a production inspector. She was also a Certified First Responder at Steinerfilm. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid painter, wood etcher and photographer. She also enjoyed tag sales and flea markets where she would turn sale items she found into works of art. Valerie was a great care giver, and prankster with a contagious laugh. She made everyone around her feel better and happier. She also was a volunteer at many local community events. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: Samuel J. Albrycht of Bennington and Christopher J. Albrycht and his wife Anna of Cary, NC, and her step-daughters; LTC Sarah K. Albrycht, and her husband LTC Robert Rossi of Germany and Elizabeth M. Albrycht Jadin, and her husband Patrick Jadin of France. She leaves four grandchildren; Madelyne Albrycht of Florida and Rhett Albrycht of Cary, NC and Ellora Jadin and Cailyn Jadin, both of France. Also she has one sister; Tracy Knights of Pownal, VT and Leonard Knights, Jr of Bennington as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, September 24, 2013 at 10:00AM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. in Bennington. Interment will follow in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. Friends may call at the funeral home on on Monday, September 23, from 4-7PM.
