Aaron Ellis Sprague 1994 - 2011 NORTH BENNINGTON Aaron Ellis Sprague, 17, of McCarthy Acres, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Bennington on April 23, 1994, he was the son of Phillip E. and Marcy E. Surdam Sprague. "Aaron El" received his early education at the North Bennington Elementary School and was a member of the junior class at Mount Anthony Union High School. Aaron loved growing up in North Bennington where he had been active in the NorShaft Little League, Soccer league, Lake Paran and the skate park. He was an avid participant in motorcross and an animal lover, especially his own dogs and cats. Aaron was a lifelong member of the North Bennington Baptist Church. He was employed at Kevin's Restaurant and also took care of the lawns at Alexandra's Bed & Breakfast. Survivors include his parents, Marcy E. Sprague and Philip E. Sprague, both of North Bennington; a sister and two brothers, Hannah E. Sprague and Nathan E. Sprague, all of North Bennington and Isaac E. Sprague of Burlington; his maternal grandparents, Marjorie K. and Ron Hall of Wildwood, Fla., and Milton "Poppy" and Patty Surdam of Bennington; his paternal grandmother, Sara C. Kenyon of North Bennington; a very close aunt, "Auntie Shell," and several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Aaron also leaves behind two very special friends/cousins, Rudy and Ben Vadakin. Aaron was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, C. David Kenyon (1993); by an uncle, Michael Surdam (1982), and by his maternal great-grandparents, Gordon and Marjorie Kenyon. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the North Bennington Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Jinno, pastor of the North Bennington Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, memorial donations in Aaron E. Sprague's memory may be made to either the NorShaft Lions Park or to Lake Paren Recreations through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
