HOOSICK, N.Y. -- Aime G. Grenier Jr., 79, of South Street, died on Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Westfield, Mass., on July 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Aime G. and Olena Gagne Grenier Sr. He was the loving husband of the former Angelica Bottesi, whom he married in Williamstown, Mass., on April 16, 1955.

Mr. Grenier was educated in Huntington, Mass., schools and joined the Navy during World War II. Once moving to Walloomsac in 1948 after his honorable discharge, he farmed with his parents on the land where he most recently resided. They were in the milking business then raising beefers. Mr. Grenier also worked for ABS Breeders, Falls Hardware and Oak Industries where he retired due to work injuries. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, breeding, painting, the History Channel and he had a great love of the outdoors. He was a former member of the Hoosick Rescue Squad and had attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. He would always be there for a friend or neighbor in need.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Angelica B. Grenier, two children Marcel A. (Susan Hopp) Grenier of Hoosick, Marlene A. Grenier of Hoosick and his grandchildren Ashley M. Grenier, James A. Grenier and Sarah L. Bottiger.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no public calling hours. Private burial with full military honors will take place at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home of Hoosick Falls.
