Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Alan H. Morrison were held from St. Peters Episcopal Church Monday, May 17, 2004 where the burial office was offered by the Rev. Canon Robert Miner, interim pastor.

Organist was Randall Krum. During the funeral service the hymns “The StrifeIs O’er” and “O God Our Help In Ages Past” were offered in Mr. Morrison’s memory.

Bearers were Joseph Baity, Jonathan Durand, John Griffin, Gerald Hoyt, Francis Heisler, Patrick Kelley, Carleton Moore, Robert Ouellet, Edward Smith, Stanley Sweet and Robert Taff.

Among the many people in attendance at the services were personnel of several automobile dealerships that Mr. Morrison had owned in the states of Vermont, Massachusetts and Florida. Also in attendance were representatives of Southern Vermont College, the Bennington Rotary Club, the Town of Bennington, the Bennington Rescue Squad and other organizations to which he had volunteered his time over the years.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Miner offering the committal prayers.

A reception for family and friends followed at Hunters restaurant in Bennington.

Mr. Morrison, a resident of Key West, Fla. and a former resident of Bennington, died May 12, 2004 in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
