Albert J. Bell
1925-2010 BENNINGTON Albert J. Bell, 84, a resident of Centers for Living and Rehab in Bennington, died on Tuesday evening, Mar. 2, 2010, following a long illness.
Born in Coaticook, Quebec, on Apr. 19, 1925, son of the late James and Gladys Ellis Bell, he received his education in Canada. He has worked at several furniture companies over the years including factories in Canada and Cushman Manufacturing in Bennington, and Green Mountain Furniture, where he worked for twenty one and retired in 1987.
He married the former Jeanette Wright in Canada in 1957. She predeceased him in 2001.
Albert enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards, building bird houses and woodworking. He especially enjoyed the Christmas holidays.
He leaves two sisters, Ruth Charlotte of Groveton, N.H., and Arlene Samson of Coaticook, Que., and nieces, nephews and cousins. He leaves his many friends including his caregivers, Charlotte Lampman of Sunderland, Vt., and Martha and Donny Violette of Eagle Bridge, N.Y., with whom he had resided for a time.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Friday, Mar. 5, 2010, at THE MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St. in Bennington at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Robin Greene officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in the Towslee Cemetery in Pownal, Vt. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 on Thursday, Mar. 4, 2010.
