Albert Tack Sr.

POWNAL -- Albert C. Tack Sr., 89, a resident of Pownal, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a lingering illness.

Mr. Tack was born in Manchester, Conn., on Aug. 18, 1917, he was the son of the late Carl and Bertha (Anderson) Tack. He received his education in the Manchester school system. A World War II Army veteran, he served in Greenland prior to his discharge in 1946. Mr. Tack had worked as an automobile mechanic throughout his life including his time spent in the military. He was a member of the American Legion and had enjoyed traveling and reading as hobbies.

He leaves his daughter Susan Wise of Pownal; sons Albert C. Tack Jr. of Wallingford, Conn., and Wayne Tack of Meriden, Conn.; a sister Arlene Delbindo of New Britian, Conn.; a brother Everett Tack of Cape Cod, Mass.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Following cremation, burial will take place with his wife Irene, at a later date in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington.
