Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Albert William Watson, 69, of Bennington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at his home, after a lengthy illness. Born April 9, 1936, in Bennington to the late James H. and Freda (Crawford) Watson, he attended area schools and graduated from Bennington High School. He was a long-time employee of the Bijur Lubricating Corp. before starting his own business as an electrician. Mr. Watson was a former active member of the local Masonic Lodge, Bennington Little League, Lions Club and Jaycees who once honored him as “Jaycee of the Year.” In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and golfing.

Mr. Watson is survived by three children and their spouses, Darlene (Watson) and Dennis Hill of Wheaton, Ill., Barry and Cathy Watson of Geneva, Ill., and Tracy (Watson) and Irwin Maguigad of Plainfield, Ill.; four grandchildren, Ross and Ethan Hill and Elisa and Noah Maguigad; a sister, Mable Ellison of Ludlow, Mass.; three brothers and their spouses, Charles and Sue Watson, Frederick “Ted” and Pat Watson, and Gerald and Kay Watson, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Watson, all of Bennington; and his former wife, Jo-Ann (Grover) Mattison of Fort Pierce, Fla., as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, James C. Watson.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2006, at 12 p.m.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in the spring.
