Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Alberta May Collins, 87, died Saturday morning, March 27, 2004 at The Centers For Living and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Collins was born in Bennington on March 8,1917. She was the daughter of Clarence and Blanche (Frazier) Shippey. She had worked at the former Bijur Lubricating Corp. as an assembler. Mrs. Collins had lived in Wilmington for a time where she was active with the senior bowling league of which she won several awards and was quite often the high scorer. She was also active with the RSVP program. She had been a member of St. Mary’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild. She loved the seashore and the mountains and enjoyed children and animals. She returned to Bennington in 1994.

She is survived by cousins and friends Kathleen Ruhl of Bennington, Nathan Ruhl of Philadelphia, Lauren Ruhl of West Dover and Brian Ruhl of Bennington.

The burial office and committal will be held on Thursday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Robert Miner, interim pastor, officiating.

Interment will be private, there are no calling hours.
