BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Alfred H. Bodway, 65, a resident of Bonita Springs, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at North Collier Hospital in Naples. He had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 1988, coming from Lakeland. Mr. Bodway was born in Pittsford, Vt. on April 26, 1939. He was the son of the late Benjamin Bodway and Alma Hendee Mann. Mr. Bodway spent 30 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1986 as senior chief petty officer. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 96.

He is survived by his loving wife, Billie S. Napper-Bodway of Bonita Springs; four daughters, Sherry Gunning of Bonita Springs, Therese Feverstein of Jacksonville, Christine Gomez of Atlanta, Ga. and Carol Lee Mondares of Pomona, Calif.; four sons, Michael Bodway of Bonita Springs, Dennis Bodway of Inman, S.C., Alfred H. Bodway Jr. of Bennington, Vt. and Steven Mondares of Folsom, Calif.; a sister, Martha Waialae of Lomita, Calif.; six brothers, Craig Mann of Bennington, Raymond Mann of Bennington, Walter Mann of Waterbury, Vt., Edward Mann of Peru, N.Y., Scott Mann of White Creek, N.Y. and Thomas Mann of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Alan Mann.

Funeral service were held Jan. 20 in Bonita Springs. Burial with committal services will take place in the spring in the Irasville Cemetery in Waitsfield, Vt.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.
