BURLINGTON -- Alfred V. Liporace, 79, of Burlington passed away on Feb. 2, 2008, after a brief illness.

He was the son of the late Ralph and Mary Lopardo Liporace of Hoosick Falls, N.Y. He was the beloved father of Mary, from Burlington, Peter of Troy, N.Y., and William (Lois) of Niskayuna, N.Y.; and the proud grandfather of Nicholas.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Patricia Liporace (Thomas) Bass of Bennington and was predeceased by sister Josephine Liporace, brothers John and Leonard, all of Hoosick Falls, N.Y. He has several loving nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1944. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Worcester during the Korean Conflict. He attended the Colorado School of Mines. He was a licensed master plumber and electrician in Vermont and New York.

Alfred was active in Rotary International, Polish American Citizen’s Club of Albany, N.Y., The Boy Scouts of America, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and his parish. He enjoyed his friends, family and being active in the community.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made to the JLS Foundation at www.thejlsfoundation.org or the American Diabetes Association.
