Altia P. Mattison 1949 - 2009 MANCHESTER VT Altia P. Mattison, 60, a resident of Manchester Center, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening Oct. 28, 2009, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Born in Wells on April 26, 1949, daughter of Albert and Pauline Wetherby Stewart, she attended local schools and graduated from Granville, N.Y. High School. Altia worked in the finishing department at Manchester Woods, Inc. in Granville, N.Y., retiring after 35 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and watching cooking shows. Altia lived to take care of her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She leaves her children, Richard Mattison and his wife, Christal of Manchester, Willis (Billy) Mattison and his longtime companion, Nicole, of West Pawlet, Pauline Cole and her husband, Keith, of Manchester, Charity Cole and her husband, Gene of Sunderland, and Tarra Finnegan and her husband, Mike, of West Rupert, her brothers, Dennis Stewart of Manchester and Harris Stewart of Pawlet, her sister, Alberta Lurvey of Pawlet; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mattison, whom she married in East Dorset on July 2, 1967. Mr. Mattison died June 3, 2001. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Altia will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at BREWSTER FUNERAL SERVICE, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center, VT. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Pawlet. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
