Alvia Irma Sulpizi 1931 - 2008 HOOSICK FALLS Alvia Irma Sulpizi, 77, died Thursday Nov. 20, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt. She resided on Seward Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late John Sulpizi. Alvia was born in Bronx, N.Y., on May 25, 1931, daughter of Charles and Sophie Tomasi Sulpizi. She attended schools in New York City. Alvia was the Bookkeeper at the family business in New York, N.Y., Statuary and Lamp Shop. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed shopping, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Alvia leaves nine daughters Jane Pascazio and Joan Dissalvatore both of the Bronx, Maryann Cara of Florida, Nancy Saurger, Denise Barcomb, Darlene Acevedo, Lori Dessler all of Hoosick Falls, Debbie Sulpizi of Pittsfield, and Maryann Cone of Eagle Bridge, three sons John Sulpizi Jr. of Greenwich, N.Y., Keith Sulpizi of Tampa, Fla., and Scott Sulpizi of Pennsylvania, two sisters, two brothers and many grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 9 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and evening 6 to 9 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
