NORTH PETERSBURGH, N.Y. -- Amy Frances Dennis, 82, a resident of N.Y. Route 22, died on Monday morning, Dec. 20, 2004, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. following a brief illness.

She was born in Pownal, Vt. on Jan. 2, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Fannie (Aldrich) Brimmer. She received her education in local schools, and had attended junior college. She is predeceased by her husband, George Washington Dennis. Mrs. Dennis recently moved back to this area from Passaic, N.J. where she had resided for over 50 years. Mrs. Dennis was a home maker who loved animals, reading, gardening and quilting.

She is survived by two sons, David Sorel of Pownal and Edward Sorel Sandgate, Vt.; four daughters, Simone Steller of North Petersburgh, N.Y., Corinne Malave of Bloomfield, N.J., Giselle Roper of Orlando, Fla. and Marlette Hendrickson of the Bronx, N.Y.; one brother, George Brimmer of Ohio; two sisters, Elizabeth Harris of Tampa, Fla. and Carol Bisson of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dennis is predeceased by one sister, Millicent Trimarghi; and one brother, Clifford Brimmer.

At Mrs. Dennis’ request, there are no services scheduled. Interment with her husband will take place in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery in the spring of 2005.
