Anita M. Taylor 1917-2009 BENNINGTON Anita Margaret Durant Taylor, 92, widow of Harold "Stubby" Taylor, a former resident of Vail Road, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Centers for Living in Bennington. Born in Cohoes, N.Y. April 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Henry Timothy and Mary Coutois Durant. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were married March 6, 1943 at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. Mr. Taylor died September 13, 2009. Mrs. Taylor attended Sacred Heart School and was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church in Bennington and St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington later in life. Mrs. Taylor was an avid gardener, often commenting that she loved to play in the dirt. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and dancing. She was proud to be a Vermonter. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Vogler (Henry) of Dade City, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Sims (Karen), Elisa Albury (Carl), and Timothy Vogler; great-granddaughter, Claudia Taylor Sims; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by two brothers, Timothy and Omer (Sam) Durant; and four sisters, Alice Shays, Jeanette Estes, Viola Plante, and her twin sister Madeline Hartnagle. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Julian LaFlamme officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in Anita's memory to the Bennington Rescue Squad or to the Sacred Heart School through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
