Ann G. Graney

1932-2012 Ann G. Graney 80, of Hoosick Falls passed peacefully into her eternal life August 11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 10, 1932, in Hoosick Falls to Francis T. and Agnes A. (Griffin) Guiden. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and attended Troy Business College. Ann had a very active life. She started her own successful real estate business, Ann Graney Village Realty, giving a bird house to all her new home owners. She made wedding cakes, taught skiing lessons, loved to garden and was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives. An avid cook and baker, there was never a family event that did not have a multitude of fantastic desserts on hand. She loved making special meals and crocheting afghans for many friends and family. Ann was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls and a long time member of the New York State Association of Realtors.

Ann was the beloved mother of sons Paul Graney (Melanie) of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Bill Graney (Ann) of Craryville, N.Y., daughters Patricia Ellement (Keith) of Queensbury, N.Y., and Mary Suite (Bill) of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., her son Robert Graney predeceased her in 2000. Eleven grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Graney, Mathew (Annie), Jonathan (Natalie), Kathlyn and Jeremiah Ellement, Nicholas, Rachel (Richard), Daniel Suite, Amy Galusha and Kimberly Cottrell and four great grandchildren Adeline Ellement and Michael Levy, Spencer Cottrell and Wesley Galusha, her sister Kay McCauley of Salem, N.Y., and several nieces and nieces. Ann also leaves her special friends, Helen Kennedy, Helen Sweet and Nancy Taber.

She is also predeceased by a sister Noreen Shea and a brother Thomas Guiden.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Wednesday August 15 at 11:15 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either The Center for Living & Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls or the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home.
