Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- The funeral of Mrs. Ann H. Tefft was held from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church North Bennington, Tuesday, Aug. 26 where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by Rev. Edward Howard, pastor, and Michael A. Demasi, retired pastor.

Serving as an acolyte was Mr. Roger Cole. The organist was Louise Gauthier and the soloist was Mrs. Mildred Pierce. Hymns offered during the mass were “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagles Wings,” “Always,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Fill My Cup Lord.”

The pall was placed on the casket by Ann’s son-in-law Richard Dame, two grandsons Kyle R. Dame and his wife Mindy and Jay L. Dame. The cross was placed on Mrs. Tefft’s casket by her daughter Judy.

The readings were offered by a granddaughter-in-law, Mindy Dame. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Kyle R. and Jay L. Dame.

Mrs. Tefft’s son-in-law Richard Dame offered a eulogy.

Bearers were a nephew Gary LaFlamme, John Mook, Terry Granger and John Antognioni.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Edward Howard and Rev. Michael Demasi offering the committal prayers.

A reception followed at the American Legion in Bennington.

A prayer service preceded the funeral mass at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Tefft’s friend, Mrs. Terry Messina, offered a remembrance prayer. Monday evening, Father Demasi and Father Howard offered the vigil service.

Mrs. Tefft, widow of Linton F. Tefft a resident of Homestead Mews, North Bennington, died Aug. 22, 2003 at the Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.
