Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Anna B. Mears were held from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington on Tuesday, April 18, 2006. The burial office with holy Eucharist was offered by the Rev. Anita Schell-Lambert. Assisting in the service was the Rev. Penny Hawkins.

Organist was Randall Krum. Hymns offered during the service included “The Strife is O’er,” “I Am the Bread of Life” and “Amazing Grace.”

Personal reflections were offered by Tonya Stanley, a granddaughter. A poem written by Shannon Cutler, a granddaughter, was read by Julie Normyle, a close family friend. Casey Mears served as a reader, and Emily Kennedy acted as both the crucifer and chalicist.

Bearers were a son, Roger Mears; two grandsons, James M. Mears and Jeremy Mears; a great-grandson, Cotie Stanley; and two grandsons-in-law, Daniel Cutler and Harold Stanley.

Burial took place in the family lot in Hinsdillville Cemetery with both the Revs. Schell-Lambert and Hawkins offering the committal prayers.

Mrs. Mears, widow of Donald H. Mears, died April 12, 2006, at her home on Grove Street in Bennington.

Following the funeral service, a reception for family and friends was held in Bennington at the home of Mrs. Mears’ sister, Josephine Colvin.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
