Anna M. Corriveau

1918-2010 BENNINGTON Anna Marie Corriveau, 91, widow of Elzear J. Corriveau, a longtime resident of Gage Street, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Armagh, Quebec, Canada, July 4, 1918, the daughter of the late Hormidas and Antoinette Lemieux Beaudoin, she received her education in Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Corriveau were married Oct. 5, 1946, in Armagh, Canada. They came to the United States and settled in Bennington in 1948. Mr. Corriveau died Aug. 3, 1998.

In earlier years Mrs. Corriveau was employed at Hoy Manufacturing Company until her retirement.

Mrs. Corriveau was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and was a member of St. Anne's Society at the church.

She leaves two sons and a daughter-in-law, Remi G. Corriveau and Robert C. and Jane Corriveau, all of Bennington; four grandchildren, Amanda Marie and Remi J. Corriveau of Bennington, Jessica Davis of Arlington, and Noel Corriveau and his wife, Haigouhi of Providence, R.I.; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Simonne Corriveau of Bennington, Germaine Daigneault of Montreal, Canada, Gabrielle Boutin and Rosa Beaudoin, both of Armagh, Canada; a brother, Emilien Beaudoin of Armagh; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Corriveau was predeceased by nine sisters and brothers, Prudencienne Leonard, Juliette Lemieux, Jeanne-D'arc Beaudoin, Honorius, Fernand, Hormidas, Marius, Marie and Adriene Beaudoin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday from 7-9: p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Mrs. Corriveau may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
