Anna G. Cross

1922-2013 Mrs. Anna G. Cross, 90, wife of Carroll B. Cross, a longtime resident of Crossover Road in Bennington died Saturday July 27, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Bennington, VT November 25, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Merle and Mabel (Stratton) Elwell. Anna received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of the former Bennington High School. She later studied nursing at the House of Mercy Hospital in Pittsfield, MA.

Mr. and Mrs. Cross were married in Shaftsbury, VT on April 3, 1943.

In earlier years Anna was employed at the Polygraphic Company in North Bennington and later at the Bennington Brush Company. Mrs. Cross was active with her husband in the operation of Carroll's Offset Camera from 1972 until the business was sold to their daughter in 1992.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Her home and family were her main interest.

Survivors include her husband Carroll B. Cross of Bennington; two daughters, Gale Wisher and Linda Corey and her husband Don of Bennington; a son, Mirle Cross of Stoddard, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Heidi Zorian, Kim Corey, D.J. Corey Jr. , Tammy MacPherson, Daniel Mulvey, Beth Bemis and Stefanie Cross; seven great grandchildren, Stephanie Corey, Joe Corey, Emma Corey, Lily Zorian, Jace Bemis and Megan and Melanie MacPherson a sister Cora Sears of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held at the White Chapel Church on Chapel Road on Tuesday July 30 at 11:00 a.m.

The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday July 29, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
