Anne Elizabeth Hill 1951-2010 NORTH ADAMS- Anne Elizabeth Hill, 59, of North Adams, passed away suddenly Friday from injuries sustained in car accident. Born July 16, 1951 in Cambridge, NY the daughter of William T. and Katharine Lahr Hill, Anne was 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School, she received BA in Legal Anthropology from UMASS Amherst in 1975 and a MA in Human Resources from Antioch University New England Graduate School in April 2000. Anne was employed by the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in the human resources dept for the past 16 years, where she directed the volunteer program, and as a ski instructor at Jiminy Peak. Anne loved being a certified professional ski instructor at Jiminy Peak; she has been teaching people the art of skiing since she was 16 years old. This past winter she started teaching her grandson Savion how to ski. She loved reading, walking, and going to the beach and spending time with her family at their lake property on Pontoosuc Lake. She loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "Nana". Anne was the consummate people's person, for the past 20 years she made the trip to the Celtic Highlander Games in Loon Mountain, New Hampshire. Anne is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Hill of Pittsfield, grandsons, Savion Price and Levi Bradley, four sisters, Kathryn H. Wade of Amarillo, Texas, Barbara J. Hill of Lake Oswego, Ore., Patricia Hill Zeigler of Amesbury, Mass., Susan McMahon of Scituate, Mass., two nieces, four nephews, and her uncle Albert Lahr of Geneva, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Anne E. Hill will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday, September 10, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
