SOUTHWICK -- Anthony C. Lombardo, 95, of Sawmill Park, Southwick, died Monday in the Bay State Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Albany, N.Y., he had lived in Bennington, Vt., for 40 years, prior to moving to Westfield, for five years, and later to Southwick. Anthony was a Terminal Manager for Holmes Transportation, retiring in 1975 after 40 years of employment.

He was an Army Veteran of W.W. II, a member of the Bennington American Legion Post 13, a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association., a member of the Pittsfield, Mass. Traffic Club, and was a life member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks #567. Anthony was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Bennington, Vt., and was a 4th Degree Knight. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick.

Anthony was predeceased by his wife, the former Elsie P. Merviglis, in 2000.

He leaves two step-sisters, Florence (Tarantino) Cennamo, of Westfield, Mass., and Angelina (Tarantino) Bretta of Springfield, Mass.; his sister-in-law Claire Cigal, of West Suffield, Conn.; many nieces and nephews; and all of his friends at the American Inn, where he lived.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Monday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours.
