Obituary Condolences

HANCOCK, Mass. -- Services for Anthony “Tony” Garrison of East Hollow Road were held Wednesday, July 16, at the family lot in Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Mass. with Rev. Penny Rich Smith of the Second Congregational Church, South Williamstown officiating.

Bearers were Timothy Garrison son, Gordon Paligo son-in-law, Rick Paligo, Frank Richardson, Rudy A. Caneles, nephews Herbert Williams and Bill Lemere friends.

Full military honors in recognition of Mr. Garrison’s World War II Army service were accorded by American Legion Post #152 Richard A. Ruether of Williamstown. Howard Oakes was Sgt. at Arms, Edward Pratt, Chaplain who also recited “What the Flag Stands For”. Mike Kennedy, Williamstown Veterans Agent, and Gary Walsh folded the flag which was presented to his wife Rose Garrison by Chaplain Edward Pratt.

The honor guard was Henry E. Bratcher, Jr. Anita Hanlon, Richard Babcock, Harold Montgomery, Herbert Palmer and Ardent Jensen.

Members of the firing squad were Richard Peterson, George Sylvester and Norman Burdick.

Taps were played by Ronald Whitney.

Mr. Garrison died July 13, 2003 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

George M. Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
