Anthony J. Kovage 1922 - 2008 HOOSICK FALLS Anthony J. Kovage, 86, formerly of Church Street, died on Sunday morning at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where he has resided since July of 2005. Born Oct. 3, 1922, in Hoosick Falls, son of Steven and Anna Lugas Kovage. He was the loving husband of Polita C. Carlos Kovage who died on Dec. 1, 1990. They were married in 1953. A lifelong resident of Hoosick Falls, Mr. Kovage attended St. Mary's Academy and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Tony served his country with the Army during World War II in the Philippines. After his honorable discharge, he worked at the Watervliet Arsenal. Mr. Kovage then had a career that spanned 40 years with Wood Flong Co., Lydall Co., in Hoosick Falls retiring in 1987 as a millwright. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He leaves his children and their spouses, Anthony J. and Sue Kovage, Jr. and Thea Erwin Hambright, a granddaughter Christina Kovage all of Hoosick Falls, a sister Anna LaFlamme of Bennington, Vt., and a dear friend Helen Markewicz. He was predeceased by siblings Stanley, John and Charles Kovage. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated on by the Rev. James Clark on Thursday Nov. 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Burial will be private. The family will accept visitors at the church starting at 9 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center Activity Fund, 21 Danforth Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.
