Arthur R. Eriksen and Tyler R. Eriksen BENNINGTON Arthur R. "Arty" Eriksen, 17, and Tyler R. Eriksen, 15, residents of Rice Lane, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Sons of Arthur R. Eriksen Sr. and Jessica Ostuna Eriksen, Arty was born in Rice Lake, Wis., on Oct. 27, 1993, and Tyler was born in Cambridge, N.Y., on Oct. 29, 1995. They received their early education in New Port Richey, Fla., and Hoosick Falls, N. Y. For the past eight years, they have attended school in Bennington where Arty was a member of the junior class and Tyler the sophomore class at Mt. Anthony Union High School. Both boys loved skateboarding, snowboarding, riding four wheelers, working on cars, raising pigs and their dogs and cats. They also hunted and fished together and both played youth football. Arty worked at Kevin's Restaurant in North Bennington and had previously worked at Gardner Motorsports. He was a member of the varsity football team at Mt. Anthony, was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and was very knowledgeable on anything connected to the NFL. Tyler enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an expert at butchering deer. He was employed at Gardner Motorsports and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Bucs football team. Survivors include their father, Art Eriksen of Bennington; their paternal grandmother, Janet Elaine Eriksen of Cochise, Ariz.; a sister, Deanne Alice Eriksen of Cambridge, N.Y.; two nieces, Abigail and Lilly, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Arty and Tyler Eriksen's memories may be made to TDBank/Arthur Eriksen through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
