Audrey C. Palmer

1919 - 2010 DORSET, VT Audrey C. Palmer, 91, a beloved member of Dorset, left this world on Wednesday June 16, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

She was born in Devonshire, England, on Feb. 10, 1919, daughter of Reginald and Lorna Freer Callard. She was married to John W. Palmer; John passed away in 1979.

While living in Dorset, Audrey became that town's first woman auditor in 1968. She retired from First Vermont Bank, (now TD Bank) in 1984 but kept getting called back to work on a part-time basis until the age of 84, when she finally had to stop. She was a member of the Manchester Seniors and also volunteered at the Wilson House in east Dorset. She will be greatly missed by her many dear friends, who loved her so, throughout the world.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas, "Reggie" and Carol Palmer, and her grandson, John Palmer, all of Dorset; her granddaughter and her husband, Kimberly and Kevin Buote of Cleveland, Ga., and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyrsten, Brandon and Mackenzie.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 4:30 p.m. at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, VT. Inurnment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Audrey's memory be made to the Rutland Area Hospice, Hospice of Bennington County, the Dorset Nurses Association or Second Chance Animal Shelter c/o Brewster Funeral Service PO Box 885 Manchester, VT 05255.
