Barbara Ann Schrader 1935 - 2009In Loving Memory of Barbara A. Schrader HOOSICK FALLS, NY Barbara Ann Schrader passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Southern Vermont Medical Center following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Barbara was born in Hackensack, N.J., on Nov. 26, 1935, daughter of Henry O. McClure and Marie Holden McClure. She attended Hackensack High School where she met the love of her life and soul-mate, Frederick Schrader. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 15, 2005. Barbara was a warm and caring woman with a passion for quilting, gardening, and watching sports, especially her favorite football team: the "NY Giants". She filled her life with family and friends, most especially her dear friends from the Bereavement Support Group in Bennington, Vt., and the Brunswick Quilt Group in N.Y. Barbara donated hand-made quilts for children battling cancer and huggie pillows for women fighting breast cancer. Barbara and Fred lived most of their life together in River Vale, N.J., where they lovingly raised four children, were passionately involved in coaching the River Vale Sports Club and enjoyed family camping trips. Barbara was employed as a Chiropractic Office Manager. They retired to Laceyville, Pa., in 1989, built the home of their dreams in the country where Barbara was involved as a volunteer at The Oldest House, a member of the Memory Chasers and other vintage car clubs. Barbara leaves her children Gary Schrader of Manchester, N.H., Deborah Schramm of Bennington, Neb., Audrey Jeffas of Westwood, N.J., and Suzanne Ottomanelli of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., her brothers George McClure of Tavares, Fla. and Robert McClure of Fort Myers, Fla., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Marjorie Moran who died on Nov. 18, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Barbara A. Schrader will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, Vermont. The Rev. Mary-Lee Clark of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington will conduct the service. There are no visiting hours.
