Obituary Condolences

Barbara LaRiviere "Bobbie" 1934-2010 BENNINGTON Barbara "Bobbie" LaRiviere passed away peacefully at her home in Key Largo, Florida on September 5, 2010. Bobbie was born on April 20, 1934, the daughter of Leo & Georgiana LaRiviere of Bennington and grew up in the Bennington area with her sisters Bettie & Lois Jean and her brother Richard. Bobbie was a member the Bennington High School class of 1953. Bobbie frequently made the trip to Bennington to attend the Benhi reunions and visit family. Bobbie enjoyed a life filled with work, friends and travel. As a young woman, she sang with the Bob Cathcart Band in area clubs such as the State Line and Merry Go Round. In her early 20's she relocated to Florida and began a career in banking. A few years later she adventured to California only to return to Miami, Florida to secure a job with National Airlines. Bobbie worked for National for many years in reservations, customer service and in management. When National was purchased by Pan Am, Bobbie continued with the career she loved. Eventually Pan Am was taken over by Delta and Bobbie continued to work with the airlines until her retirement and relocation to the Florida Keys. Bobbie lived life to the fullest. She made many friends and traveled all over the world. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and a smile for everyone. All of her life Bobbie was a hard worker and in addition to her career, spent much of her life caring for others. She was kind hearted and generous with her time and love and will be missed by many whose hearts she has touched. Friends & family will always remember her early morning birthday greeting (always sung) and her "wacky" expressions that will continue to live with us all. Bobbie is survived by the children & grandchildren of her much loved sister Bettie Fair; Patti Eddington, Connie Messer & Tom Fair as well as her step daughter Anna Haley and her family. She also leaves her "adopted" Florida family Linda Welch and her children of Key Largo. FUNERAL NOTICE: Bobbie's family will host a celebration of life in Key Largo at Beyer Funeral Home on Wednesday November 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. Friends are encouraged to share memories and stories of Bobbie at that time. Donations can be made on behalf of Bobbie in memory of her niece, Suzan Fair to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
