Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A service to remember the lives of Barbara M. and Francis E. Harper was held on Wednesday morning, Sept. 15, at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington. The Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bennington, officiated. A tribute, written by the Harper’s daughter, Judy Forrest, was read by the Rev. Estey. During the time of visitation preceding the service and following the service a collection of Mrs. Harper’s favorite music was played. Interment followed at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington with the Rev. Estey conducting the committal service. Serving as urn bearers were a grandson, Jason Harper, and a great-grandson, Brendan Davis. Following the committal services, friends and family members gathered at the home of Judy and Gary Forrest for a time of fellowship and remembering. Among those attending the services and visitation were friends and co-workers from the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department, Vermont State Police, Bennington town office, Rivers Edge Community Care Home and NSK. An escort from the funeral home to Park Lawn Cemetery was provided by the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department.

Mrs. Harper, a resident of the West Road Park in Bennington, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Rivers Edge Community Care Home in Bennington at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Harper, who died in 1993.

Service arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
