Barbara Lorraine Sargent

1928-2013 BENNINGTON It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Sargent announce her passing on Monday, October 1st, 2013. Born Barbara Bohannon, on October 6, 1928, to Ethel (Williams) and Lorice Bohannon of Morrisville, she was a graduate of the People's Academy Class of 1946. She is remembered as a voracious reader, lover of music, dance, and animals. A lovely soul, strong, yet gentle and giving, she welcomed every day with a smile. Devoted to her family she leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Harold Roy Sargent Jr. of Bennington; four children, Carolyn Sargent of Bennington, Harold Sargent III (wife Judy) of Irving, Texas, Mary Sargent (partner Howard) of East Arlington, and Michael Sargent (wife Mardi) of Shaftsbury; four grandchildren, Walter Sargent (wife Beth) of Irving, Texas, Peter Sargent of Irving, Texas, Kalen Andrew Sargent of Boston, Mass, and Allison (Alli) Sargent of Morehead City, N.C.; six great-grandchildren, Piper, Anina, Willow, Cullen, Caleb, and Noah. "The memories of you that are closest to our hearts are the gentle ones that we carry with us day to day. Our hearts are a memory book its pages full of living thoughts of you; your goodness, grace, and love. A book of many yesterdays bound with love and care a rare edition because you are treasured there. We love you." FUNERAL NOTICE: A private Celebration of Barbara's life was held on Sunday, October 6th, her 85th birthday, at the home of her daughter. A family graveside service was held on October 7th, 2013, officiated by the Rev. Kathleen Clark of the Federated Church in East Arlington.
