Obituary Condolences

READSBORO -- Barbara (Hubley) Sprague, 80, of 227 Valley View Drive, Pownal, and a longtime resident of Readsboro, died Saturday at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Jan. 28, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Russell and Kathleen (Davis) Hubley. She moved to Monroe, Mass., with her family as a child. She attended schools in Monroe and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, Mass., with the class of 1945. She was employed in her earlier years at the former Deerfield Glassine Co.

She was a devoted mother, and homemaker. She was an active member of the Readsboro Baptist Church where she volunteed for several of the churches activities. She also was a longtime volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years Llewellyn “Skee” Sprague whom she married March 22, 1947; two daughters, Christine Hardman and her husband James of Orleans, Mass., Bonnie Millis and her husband Glenn of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Brooke Hardman Ditchfield, Hilary Henning, James C. Hardman, Carrie Babe and Katie Millis.

Funeral services for Barbara (Hubley) Sprague will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Readsboro Baptist Church in Readsboro, Vt. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling Hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Heart Assoc. or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the funeral home.
