Obituary Condolences

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Beatrice M. Latremore, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Van Duyn Home and Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born in Benson Mines on Oct. 22, 1913, the daughter of Henry and Lea Pauline (Beaudin) Latremore. She was raised in Manchester, Vt., by her aunt and uncle, Anna and George Bovey, from the time she was 3 months old. She was a graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary in Manchester.

She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Albany and served in the U.S. Navy Nursing Corps during World War II. Bea received her master’s of science degree in nursing service administration from Syracuse University. She worked at University Hospital as a staff nurse and assistant surgical supervisor at Syracuse University School of Nursing. She was director of nursing at Van Duyn Home and Hospital from 1954 until her retirement in 1980. The Bea Latremore Room at Van Duyn was named in her honor. Bea was active in the New York State Nurses Association District No. 4 and in the Nursing Foundation in Guilderland.

She is survived by her niece, Catherine (Jack) Perry of Manchester, and godson, John King of Pittsford, Vt.

Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in the Bea Latremore Room at Van Duyn Home and Hospital in Syracuse. Private interment will be in St. Columbans Cemetery in Arlington, Vt.
