1932 - 2013 BENNINGTON Beatrice Longtin Sausville, 80, a resident of North Branch Street, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Manchester on May 30, 1932, daughter of Adrian and Ethel (Lake) Longtin. She received her education in Manchester and was a graduate of Burr & Burton Seminary where she was captain of the girls' basketball team and was recently inducted into the Burr & Burton Hall of Fame.

In earlier years, Bea was employed at Thompson Manufacturing and Ben Mont Paper Company. For 30 years, she was employed at Jard in Bennington and later at Mack Molding in Arlington. She most recently was employed at McDonalds.

She enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was an avid walker, enjoyed going to tag sales, and scratch off tickets. On Christmas Day, she scratched off a $500 winner. Bea was also a member of the American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary.

Her husband, William J. Sausville Jr., whom she married on June 20, 1959, at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Manchester, died April 9, 1992.

Survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Barbara Shea and Christopher of Bennington, Joan Reilly of Bennington and Jean Pinsonneault and Tim Sr. of Bennington; a son, Peter J. Sausville Sr. of Bennington, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Decker of Albany, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Selig and Yvonne Bruley and by a brother, Ralph Longtin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Beatrice L. Sausville may be made to the Bennington Recreation Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
