Bernard P. "Pepsi" LaCroix 1930-2012 NORTH HOOSICK, NY Bernard P. "Pepsi" LaCroix, 81, a resident of Cobble Hill Road, North Hoosick, died peacefully Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his residence. Born in Bennington November 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Marshall J. and Adele (Page) LaCroix. He received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1951 graduate of Bennington High School. A Korean veteran, Bernie enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1951 and was discharged in Philadelphia in 1955. Bernie married the former Marie Perry in northeast Philadelphia on September 11, 1954. Marie died October 6, 1971. Bernie returned to the area in 1979 and worked at various Price Chopper supermarkets as a meat cutter, where he was affectionately known as "Mon Ami". Bernie retired in January, 1993. He married the former Chris (Meehan) Reynolds at Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on June 30, 1985. A devout communicant of Immaculate Conception, Bernie sang in the church choir for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 11071 in Hoosick Falls, Elks Lodge 567 in Bennington and American Legion Post 90 in Pownal. Bernie enjoyed fishing, singing, woodworking, gardening, cheering for the New York Yankees and volunteering in the community. Survivors include his wife, Chris LaCroix of North Hoosick, N.Y.; fifteen children, Norman, Richard, Paul, Thomas and Michael LaCroix, Christine Robare, Laurie Kuzia, Kathy Reynolds, Cheryl Randall, Pamela Chenail, Robert, Kenneth, Bradley, Nathan and Glenn Reynolds; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Couch of Bennington and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bernie was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur, Eugene, Norman and Edmond "Jabo" LaCroix. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 12 noon where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered. Private committal services will be held at the family lot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, Massachusetts at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bernard P. LaCroix's memory may be made to the Hoosick Area Community Alliance through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
