1929 - 2015 QUEENSBURY, N.Y. Bernard R. Mayer, 85, a resident of Swan Way, and formerly of Tudor Road in Sandgate, VT, passed away April 14, 2015 at his home. Bernard was born in Orwell, VT on June 20, 1929 the son of Frederick and Aline (Quinville) Mayer and attended local schools. Bernard worked for Manchester Graphics for many years as a printer. He was a member of the Bennington Moose Lodge, the Benni-Rooster Squares and Square Dance club. He loved hunting, fishing, raising animals and camping. Bernie is survived by his wife, the former Christine Sweet of Queensbury and formerly of Sandgate whom he married July 30, 1983 in Sandgate, children; Suzanne Peters, Roxanne Hover, Michelle Hurley, Jennifer Warner, Michael, Curtis, Daniel, Nicholas, Christopher and Timothy Mayer, nine brothers and sisters, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy Mayer in 1995 and his sister, Lorraine Mayer who also passed away in 1995. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Bernard will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, Arlington Chapel, Historic Route 7A. Interment will be at a later date. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 from 2 to 4p.m. prior to the service.
