Obituary Condolences

PERU -- Bernard Roy Robinson, of Peru, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction on Aug. 15, 2006, at the age of 83.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Bert Robinson. He leaves to mourn his sister, Thelma Smith (Ernest Smith) of Belleville Ontario; his niece Suzanne Kruger, of Bath, Ontario, and her children Jeffrey Hill, Julienne Tice (David, Jemma), Jayne Krtwoy (Patrick Caelin). He is also survived by extended family in Canada, England, New Zealand and The Canay Islands.

He spent his school years in Belleville, Ontario, and joined the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Later, Roy moved to the United States, where he was an administrative purchasing and traffic agent for several New York companies.

While in New York he became a member of the Terry Town Ski Club and skied in Vermont where he retired.

Roy loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Bromley Ski Patrol, the Wantastiquet Trout Club, and the Peru Volunteer Fire Company. Roy also played golf and loved his garden.

A memorial service will be held in the Peru Church on Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. followed by a gathering at the Peru Town Center. Cremation has taken place and Roy’s ashes will be spread on his beloved Bromley Mountain.

The family would like to express the heart-felt thanks for the kindnesses shown to him over the years.
