Obituary Condolences

CONCORD, N.H. -- Bernard T. Forest, 70, of Loudon Road, Concord, formerly of Keene, died at Hospice House of Concord Monday, June 28, 2004 after a long illness.

He was born in Keene on Aug. 2, 1933, the son of Arthur T. and Yvonne (Provencher) Forest.

Mr. Forest was a longtime resident of Keene and had lived in Concord for the past seven years. He attended Keene schools and was a graduate of Keene High School, class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy in Korea, England and Scotland.

Mr. Forest was the owner of Bernie’s Mobile Lunch in Keene for 13 years. He was also employed by Friendly’s restaurant. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish in Keene and the Gordon-Bissell Post 4 American Legion. He was a former member of the Keene Post 799 VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed bowling, crafts, and was an avid sports fan, especially baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (David) Forest of Concord; one son, Joseph T. Forest of Bennington, Vt.; a daughter, Laurie J. LeMay of Pembroke, N.H.; one brother, Edward Forest of St. Cloud, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sara Forest, Bryan Forest, Emily Forest, Erik LeMay and Dana LeMay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Paul Forest, Rene Forest, George Forest and Charles Forest.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main St., Keene on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St., Keene on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Concord, 250 Pleasant St., P.O. Box 1797, Concord, NH 03302-1797.
