Bertha S. Sibley 1911-2010 E. GREENWICH, RI Bertha S. Sibley, 99, a resident of The Seasons and formerly of Bennington, Vt., died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010. A daughter of William G. and Geneva M. (Whalen) Stonehouse, Mrs. Sibley was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Brookline, Mass. She was a graduate of Brookline High School and Boston University. A longtime resident of Bennington, Mrs. Sibley worked for many years as a personal secretary to the Honorable Ferdinand L. Mayer and served as a volunteer at the Southern Vermont Medical Center. She moved to Shelburne, Vt., in 2000, and to East Greenwich in 2008. Mrs. Sibley is survived by her son, Tarrant L. Sibley, Jr., her daughter, Linda S. D'Amico, both of Rhode Island, three grandchildren, Debbie Austin, Tarrant L. Sibley, III, and Gregory D'Amico, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Tarrant L. Sibley, two sisters, and a grandson, Jonathan D'Amico. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service to be at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2010, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bennington, VT. Burial at the convenience of the family.
