Obituary Condolences

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Bessie May (LeBarron) Chawner, 90, formerly of Cambridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 at the Eden Park Nursing Home in East Greenbush, where she had been a resident for several years. She was the widow of Liston Ketchum and Frank Chawner. Born Oct. 14, 1912 in the town of White Creek, she was the daughter of Henry R. and Daisey Granger LeBarron. She received her education in Cambridge.

Bessie worked as a switchboard operator at Mary McClellan Hospital for many years. She also worked as a waitress at the Hotel Cambridge.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.

She was a member of the Embury United Methodist Church and the Cambridge Senior Citizens.

She is predeceased by six siblings, Helen LeBarron and Ownie LeBarron, both who died earlier this year, as well as Violet, Flossie, Robert, and Harvey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Ketchum) and Steven Rohrwasser of East Greenbush; two granddaughters; a sister, Dorothy Danio of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jane Baker of the Embury United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Cambridge Senior Citizens, 5 Park Place, Cambridge, NY 12816.
