Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Betty Lorraine Bezio, 67, a former resident of Congress Street, and more recently of the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, died Thursday morning Sept. 4, 2003 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.

She was born in Keeseville, New York November 12, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Eunice (Lamere) Sousie. She received her education in Keeseville and was a graduate of Keeseville High School.

Betty married Bernard Bezio in 1976. Mr. Bezio died April 10, 1988.

In earlier years Betty was employed at the Blue Benn Diner. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Bennington. Betty loved animals.

Survivors include four sons, David F. Blake of Atlanta, Ga., Allen W. Blake of Shaftsbury, Stacey J. Blake of Grapevine, Texas, Bernard J. Bezio of Bennington; five grandchildren, Crystal Lee Mentiply of Bennington, Kayla and Kasey Bezio both of Bennington, Marlissa and Octavia Blake both of Grapevine, Texas; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Lee Mentiply of Bennington; one sister, Patricia A. Wack of Brandon, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Ann Caron who died July 1, 2003.

A memorial service will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael A. Demasi, officiating.

The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.
