1940-2014 BENNINGTON, VT - Betty Kay (Henry) Taylor died peacefully with her family beside her on March 18, 2014. She was 73. Betty was born in Barre, Vt., on December 19, 1940, the daughter of Guilford and Florence (Coffin) Henry. She was raised and educated in Guilford, Vt., where she was awarded the Silver B Award for outstanding achievement and during her high school years was crowned Winter Carnival Queen. She graduated from Brattleboro Union High School, class of 1958. She married David W. Taylor and together they had two sons, Daniel and Stephen, the lights of her life. Betty loved her family. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son Daniel Taylor and his wife Stephanie; their children, Amber, Brittaney and Brianna, along with their five grandchildren, all of Northwood, Ohio; her son Stephen Taylor and his wife Patricia of Newington, Conn.; two brothers, Robert Henry and his wife Sue of Rochester, N.Y., and James G. Henry of Guilford; and her sister, Joanne Prouty and her husband Dave of Pownal, Vt. Betty truly enjoyed her extended family of nieces and nephews aplenty in the Bennington area. She is predeceased by her parents, her close friend Richard Austin, and her beloved grandnephew Benjamin Prouty who passed away on September 14, 2013 in Shaftsbury, Vt. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services in celebration of Betty's life will be held Sunday, March 23rd at 2:00 PM at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home in Brattleboro. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the start of the services. Burial in the Henry lot at Christ Church Cemetery in Guilford will take place in the springtime when the cemetery reopens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, National Processing Center, P.O. Box 758541, Topeka, KS 66675.
