Buelah Marie Mattison

1938-2013 BENNINGTON Buelah Marie Mattison, 74, a resident of North Road in Shaftsbury, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Buelah was born in Shaftsbury on October 22, 1938 the daughter of the late Clement and Emily (Rice) Greene, Sr. She received her education in Shaftsbury schools, graduating from North Bennington High School. Buelah worked for Stanley Tools for 28 years, retiring Aug. 14, 2000. She also worked at Ben-Mont and Hale Company in Arlington, Vt. Buelah had an immense passion for cooking and was very well known for her homemade biscuits. She loved playing pitch and horseshoes. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, loved her family dog, Champ, and cherished times spent with her family. Buelah is survived by her brothers, Arthur Greene and his wife Joan, Douglas Greene, and Richard Greene and his wife Anita all of Shaftsbury; her sister Jennie Bishop of Woodford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Mattison , whom she married Aug. 24, 1979. Mr. Mattison died April 16, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Myron Greene and Clement Greene, Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Buelah will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE & SHEA FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, Vt. Interment will follow in the family lot in Waite Cemetery in Shaftsbury. The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE & SHEA FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, Vt.
