Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Beverly A. Hackett, 64, wife of Michael D. Hackett and a resident of Gage Street, died peacefully Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Cambridge, Mass., Feb. 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robinson Flagg and the former Evelyn Helen Brown Flagg. She received her education in the Cambridge schools.

Mike and Beverly were married in Bennington July 25, 1992.

In earlier years, Beverly was employed in the meat department of various area grocery stores, most recently at the former Grand Union in Bennington.

Beverly’s favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Michael D. Hackett of Bennington; two children, George F. Harkins III of Bennington and Denise M. Harkins McCraw and her husband, Jonathan W. McCraw, of Greensboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Shelby M. Harkins and Jacob T. Harkins, both of Pownal. Beverly is also survived by a brother, three sisters, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Beverly A. Hackett’s memory may be made to the Vermont Diabetes Association through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
