MANCHESTER -- Beverly B. Casey, 69, a lifelong resident of Manchester died suddenly at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She was born in Manchester, May 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Otis and Florence (Davis) Brooks. She received her education in Manchester and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary.

On Feb. 9, 1952 she was married to Lloyd Casey. The Caseys raised a loving family. Beverly was a very dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Mr. Casey died in 1996. Beverly especially enjoyed family gatherings and events. Summers at Lake Saint Catherine were special times. In recent times she worked as a ticket agent for the Green Mountain Railroad in Manchester. She enjoyed baking, chocolate and reading. She loved to play the organ and was an avid clown collector. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her four sons and their wives: Michael and Tisa Casey of Manchester, Steven and Teresa Casey of East Dorset, Scott and Joy Casey of Manchester and Craig and Jennifer Casey of Manchester. Three daughters and their husbands: Cindy and Daniel O’Leary of Dorset, Cathy and David Lawrence of East Dorset, Pamela Casey and Hassan Chani. A brother Corliss Brooks of California; 16 grandchildren: Christy Downey, Shannon O’Leary, Jennifer and Brian Casey, Sean, Kattie and Kyle Lawrence, Tracy, Sandy, Amanda and Tanya Casey, Darren and Eric Casey, Ryan and Trevor Casey and Noah Chani.

She was predeceased by her brother David Brooks and three sisters: Barbara King, Eleanor Pockette and Dorothy Drake.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Monday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert. The Rev. Dr. James Hopkins Grey, pastor of the church, will officiate. There are to be no calling hours. Beverly’s cremated remains will be committed to the earth with her husband in Saint Jerome Cemetery in East Dorset.
