BENNINGTON -- Bonnie L. Prentiss, 49, wife of Richard E. Prentiss, a resident of Beech Street, Bennington, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Bennington April 17, 1958, she was the daughter of Marvin and Linda (Hoyt) Lampron. Bonnie received her early education in the Pownal schools and was a 1975 graduate of Bennington High School.

Bonnie and Richard were married in Bennington on July 15, 1990. Bonnie had been employed at Sunrise Family Resource Center in Bennington for over 20 years until the time of her retirement.

She enjoyed the many years of family camping trips to Lake Lauderdale, animals, reading and her dog “Grizzly.”

Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Prentiss of Bennington; three children, Bonnie Jean Barber of Bennington, Randy Barber of Woodford and Kelli Marie Prentiss of Bennington; a step-son, Chad Prentiss and his wife Heather of Bennington; her parents, Marvin and Linda Lampron of Bennington; five grandchildren, Kerri Pudvar, Jeremy Pudvar, Breonna Barber, Bradley Barber and Sierra Barber; three step-grandchildren, Kyle, Jay and James Peters; her sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Bill Sheldon and her brother and sister-in-law, David and Bonnie Lampron, all of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; her former sister-in-law, Faye Morse of Bennington; her father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Elaine Prentiss of Bennington; her sister-in-law, Gail Arasim of Bennington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from St. Peters Episcopal Church in Bennington on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at 11 a.m. where the Burial Office with Holy Eucharist will be offered by the Rev. Mother Anita Lambert, Rector.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Should friends desire, contributions in Bonnie Prentiss’ memory may be made to either Sunrise Family Resource Center or the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.

All members of the Bennington Fire Department are asked to meet at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. to pay respects to the family of Bonnie Prentiss.
