Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- The Burial Office with Eucharist was offered for Bonnie L. Prentiss on Tuesday morning, Aug. 7, 2007, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Assisting at the services was St. Peter’s Church Deacon Penny Hawkins. The Crucifer for the services was Ms. Jennifer Metcalfe. Musical selections for the services were played by organist Louise Gauthier. The selected hymns included “Jesus Lives,” “Sing, My Soul His Wondrous Love” and “Go Forward Christian Soldiers.”

The interment followed in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Pallbearers for the services included her step-son Mr. Chad Prentiss; her brother Mr. David Lampron; Mr. Raymond Prouty; Mr. Richard Barber; her brother-in-law Mr. William Sheldon and Mr. Corey Marchegiani.

Attending the visitation on Monday evening at the funeral home were several members of the Bennington Fire Department and other members of the various fire companies throughout the area. Also in attendance at the visitation and the funeral services were staff members of the Sunshine Resource Center, with whom Bonnie had worked for many years.

Mrs. Bonnie L. Prentiss, 49, wife of Richard E. Prentiss, and a resident of Beech Street in Bennington, died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, following a long courageous battle against cancer.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, Bennington.
