Butch Crawford 1966-2010 BENNINGTON Butch Crawford 44, a resident of Harwood Hill died unexpectedly Sunday October 24, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Salem, NY. Butch was born in Bennington on July 18, 1966, he grew up in Stamford and Arlington and received his education in Stamford and North Adams, schools. He was currently working as a mechanic's helper at Bennington Auto Tech . Butch had previously worked in the construction and the roofing business for Robert Wade and D.A. Boyz Construction. In earlier years while working on various farms he developed a fondness for horses and loved all types of animals. As an outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outside. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 13 where he would often assist in putting on dinners and club functions. Butch will be remembered as a good son, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves his parents Carolyn and John Stefanick of Stamford, son Cody Rock of England, brother Ronald Crawford and wife Donna of Arlington, sisters Kathy Rock Colvin and husband Jimmie Jo Colvin of Manchester and Karen LaCross and husband John LaCross Jr. of Bennington, best friend Bobby Jo Phillips of Hebron, NY, 10 nieces and nephews Beverly, Carol-Lee, Michael, Trevor, James, Kyle and Perry, as well as aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was pre deceased by his grandparents Carl and Beverly "Gram" Grover. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 28 at 10 a.m. at the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with Reverend Kathleen Clark, pastor of the Federated Church of East Arlington officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Arlington American Legion Hall for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Burial with committal services will take place at 4pm Thursday in the Danby Scottsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, Route 7A in Arlington on Wednesday from 5-8pm when the family will be present. In honor of Butch and his love of the out of doors those attending are asked to where camouflage to the services and calling hours. Should friends desire, memorial gifts in memory of Butch may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O.
