Obituary Condolences

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mr. Calvin Patrick King, 80, of 611 State Rd., Holy Family Terrace, North Adams, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born in Adams on Aug. 18, 1925, son of the late Clarence and Irene (Gannon) King. He attended schools in Williamstown.

Mr. King served off Normandy with the United States Coast Guard.

Mr. King was employed as a press operator for Williams College in Williamstown from Nov. 21, 1977, until his retirement on Aug. 31, 1990.

He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Williamstown. He was a member of the Williamstown Post 152 American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

His wife, the former Josephine “Chick” LeRay, whom he married Jan. 31, 1947, died Jan. 2, 2005.

Suvivors include two sons, Patrick King and his wife, Ruth, and Wayne King and his wife, Cindy, all of North Adams; a daughter, Kelly Miner and her fiancé, Jeff Tatro, of North Adams; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his favorite nephew, Earl King Jr., and many other nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Earl King.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 9 a.m. from the Auge-San Soucie-Simmons Funeral Home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Williamstown.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.

Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Williamstown Post 152 American Legion through the funeral home.
