Obituary Condolences

CENTER CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Carl F. Kottler, 82, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt. He resided in Center Cambridge and was the husband of the late Gabriella Kottler, who died on Dec. 16, 2005.

Carl was born on May 18, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wisc., son of the late Carl and Leita (Crosby) Kottler. Carl received degrees from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and a master’s degree as an oceanographer from C.W. Post in Long Island, N.Y. He also worked on the lunar landing mission with NASA and with the Air Force in meteorology.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during World War II, receiving the rank of second lieutenant. Carl played the cello and enjoyed playing chamber music with his wife Gabriella throughout their 55 year marriage.

Survivors include his nephew, Dr. George F. Heinrich and his family in New York City; his close friend Jean Slingerland and her family; and many other dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., in Hoosick Falls. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garden Fund at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation through the funeral home.
