Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Graveside funeral services with full military honors for Carleton P. Couch Sr. were held Saturday morning, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Chaplain John Foster of the Vermont Veterans Home conducted the service. Full military honors were accorded by American Legion Post 29, Readsboro, under the command of American Legion Post 13 Bennington member Ralph Brown. Color guard and rifle squad members of American Legion Post 29 included Commander Bob Scott, color guard commander Marshall Sprague, Jerry Crowell, Brian Bowker, Mario Cristofoloni and Clarence Ross.

The American flag was presented to Mr. Couch’s son by Ralph Brown and taps and echo was sounded by Maurice Rancourt.

Among the delegations present were members from Bank of Bennington, the Vermont Veterans Home and Commander Mike Krizan from American Legion Post 13.

A reception following the interment was held at the American Legion Post 13 in Bennington.

Carleton P. Couch Sr., a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home.

Arrangements were under the care of Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.
